Fees and Financial Aid
Santa Barbara City College is committed to making college attainable for your student.
We offer several types of financial aid which are funded through federal, state and
local agencies and the college itself.
In today's uncertain economy, we recommend that you apply for financial aid even if you don't anticipate the need for assistance.
The first step is to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.
You can listen and learn more about Financial Aid at Financial Aid TV and explore the range of scholarships, grants, and low-interest loans available at the Financial Aid Office.
All students, resident and non-residents must pay an enrollment fee of $46.00 per unit with no maximum amount. If you are a California resident and you need help paying the enrollment fee, you may qualify for the Board of Governors Grant Waiver (BOGW). Apply in the Financial Aid Office (SS-210) before enrolling classes.
SBCC does not send bills. It is the student's responsibility to manage their accounts through the Pipeline student portal. It is also the student's responsibility to drop their classes by the stated deadlines. Nonpayment of fees may result in having a hold placed on your account, inability to order transcripts and potentially have your debt reported to a Third Party Collections Agency.
